Dr Peter Maccora

After first receiving Chiropractic care at Stirling Health Professionals after a motor vehicle accident, Peter experienced firsthand the detrimental effects of spinal  trauma and the healing benefits of the Chiropractic adjustment. From his initial experience of Chiropractic he developed a real interest in the function of the human body especially the spine. Having competed in gymnastics, surf life saving, australian rules football as well as martial arts, he was no stranger to injuries and found the introduction of Chiropractic care enabled him to return to sport quicker and prevent injuries in the first place.

After finishing high school at Sacred Heart College in Sorrento, Peter completed a Bachelor of Science degree as a precursor to his Masters Degree in Chiropractic which was undertaken at Macquarie University in Sydney, finishing in 1999. He then moved to Melbourne in 2000 to take up a position at Napier Street Chiropractic (right across the road from Windy Hill, home of his beloved Bombers!) where he worked for 2 years. He then heard the call of Europe and moved there later in 2001 and worked as a locum Chiropractor throughout the UK. The experience of seeing patients from such a diverse community gave him a greater understanding of how little is known about the profession in other countries and how well Chiropractic works for all manner of patients.

In 2001, Peter undertook studies for the International Chiropractic Sport Science Diploma which he completed with the final exams back in Perth. After 3 highly successful years as a locum, often being booked out a year in advance, he decided to settle in Hinckley, England in county Leicestershire. Over the following 4 years he provided Chiropractic care for a large range of Chiropractic patients including various professional cricketers, golfers, rugby union and league players as well as soccer players of all levels. During this time he undertook various studies in alternate Chiropractic techniques as well as advanced procedures in the care of pregnant women, newborns and children of all ages.

In 2008, Peter returned to Perth to take over practice from Dr Noel Patterson who built and developed Stirling Chiropractic Clinic in the early 80s. Although quite big shoes to fill, he has been able to continue on the legacy that Dr Patterson has left in helping patients from a few days old to his oldest patient who is over 100! Peter’s primary focus has always been to serve others in helping them to achieve their maximum health potential through Chiropractic care. Whether it be the newborn child, the elite athlete or the older patient with plenty more years to enjoy, he aims to help them achieve their health goals through Chiropractic care.
